I Believe In A Thing Called Love

Samsung have employed The Darkness front man, Justin Hawkins, to help take a direct swipe at their competitor Apple, here in their Super Bowl ad. Samsung have been taking hits at Apple for weeks now, usually by starring Apple fan-boys/girls queuing outside of the store waiting for the “next big thing”.

Will Apple launch a counter-attack?

This song’s going to be in my head for bloody days, now…

Green Hell – Cadillac ATS

Having more testosterone than I know what to do with, I’m a huge sucker for fast cars. Which is why I’m being completely biased when I say I love this advert.

Best Buy – Super Bowl

Best Buy paid tribute to mobile tech innovators in their Super Bowl spot last night.

These features we take for granted every day, it’s quite cool that Best Buy are introducing us to them.

No Car For You! – Acura NSX

My, my. The Super Bowl this year is incredibly nostalgic isn’t it?

Jerry Seinfeld is after the very first Acura NSX, and I can’t blame him. I mean, look at it. It’s bloody beautiful! Excuse me whilst I wipe the drool from the keyboard dfsgihbofvdiscjmdkvbgo

Where was I?

Jerry is after the first Acura NSX. The advert follows him as he attempts to bribe this lucky fellow in a number of Seinfeld-esque situations, until the man eventually gives in, just for Jay Leno to foil the whole plan!

This is probably one of my favourite adverts this Super Bowl, but as an admirer of fine machinery, I guess I’m slightly biased.

The Dog Strikes Back

So, here we have it. The eagerly anticipated Super Bowl ad, from Volkswagen.

The ad sees Bolt, the dog, as he attempts a montage-esque training regime so he can chase after the all new, Volkswagen Beetle.

There’s even a shameless (!) cameo from Darth Vader during the, rather out of place, Cantina scene at the end. Star wars seems to be everywhere nowadays doesn’t it?

As a previous owner of a fat dog, I only wish he had that level of motivation.

Pretty cool ad though, I watched it with a smile on my face, up until that last scene.

God damn, I love the Super Bowl.

Matthew’s Day Off – Honda CR-V

Ever seen Ferris Bueller’s day off? Honda are reliving this classic 80′s film by casting the leading actor Matthew Broderick, as he escapes numerous close encounters with his boss after calling in sick. Honda have hidden over two dozen references to the film throughout, can you spot them?

The advert itself is designed to advertise the new family car, the Honda CR-V, by using the humour portrayed in the style of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off Continue reading

The Bark Side

Keeping in line with last years Superbowl commercial, Volkswagen have cleverly crafted this canine orchestra to bark the Imperial March from Star Wars, as a teaser for their latest. The minute long clip has only been on Youtube a day, yet it has accumulated 250,000 views already! I love the “Walker” dog, and “Chewbacca” dog especially, clever little additions.
